BANKRUPT BUILDER
COMPLICATED AFFAIRS LOSSES ON CONTRACTS (From Our Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Tuesday. A meeting of the creditors of Walter William Scott, a prominent builder, was held this morning. .Neither bankrupt nor his solicitor was able to estimate the liabilities. Bankrupt stated his difficulties arose over contracts for a Paeroa picture theatre and a Morrinsville hotel. Mr. Strang, solicitor, said the matter was so complicated with liens and orders that he found it impossible to ascertain the position. Bankrupt claimed that about £4,00 was due on the Paeroa job, in addition to payments received. The meeting decided that the official assignee should consult the private assignee to whom the estate was entrusted by a meeting of creditors last February. The creditors also require George L. Burmester, architect, of Te Aroha, and J. C. Carroll, solicitor, to attend the next meeting and explain the position as regards the Paeroa and Morrinsville contracts. Claims put in totalled about £1,300. The meeting was adjourned sine die.
