PRINCE EDWARD

“WHY SAILORS GO WRONG” “Why Sailors Go Wrong,” an uproarious comedy, with Sammy Cohen and Ted McNamara in the leading roles, is the pictorial attraction at the Prince Edward Theatre this evening. There is a sto.rm at sea which, unlike other such affairs in pictures, i.s one continuous source of merriment for the audience—the wreck on a cannibal island and the final rescue of the heroes by a battleship. Perhaps the most mirth provoking situations in a picture abounding in laughter are the episodes picturing the boys on the island, their hairbreadth escapes from lions, alligators and other ferocious beasts and their final capture by cannibals who offer to spare them from the stew pot if they will take cannibal wives. “Under the Tonto Rim,” the second feature, is based on the Zane Grey story of the same name. Richard Arlen and Mary Brian are the- stars.

Earle Foxe, who recently Stepped out of comedy roles in the interest of more serious screen portrayals, has won the appellation of “the ( most satisfactory villain in “Hollywood.” In “Hangman’s House,” Fox Films’ production directed by John Ford and based on Donn Byrne’s great novel, this versatile player runs the gamut from larcency to arson in one of the most spectacular performances of his career. He has many dramatic scenes with June Collyer, Larry Kent, Victor McLaglen and Hobart Bosworth.
