FRENCH CLUB MEETS
FINE MUSICAL PROGRAMME A meeting of the Auckland French Club was held in the club rooms. Union Buildings, last evening. The programme was under the direction of Miss E. Hall, and the hostess was Mrs. L. Clewes (nee Miss Lola Musseier). The following contributed musical items: Miss Tui Ward, piano solo; Mrs. Hobday, Maori songs; Miss Barker, songs; Miss M. Atkinson and Mr. B. O’Malley, songs; Misses Daphne Higham and Moira Cooper, violin solos; Miss Mavis Grevatt, harp selections. Items w«re also rendered by the French Consul, M. Paul Serre, and a clever paper written by Miss E. Hall dealing with the evolution of dress, caused merriment. „ A French play entitled “Apres Nous was interpreted by some of the club s best actors, Mrs. Hall, in a difficult part, being ably supported by Messrs. G. Coldham. Faigan and P. Hall.
