BEER DUTY LOWER
DUNEDIN CUSTOMS FIGURES Press Association DUNEDIN, Sunday. The customs returns at Dunedin for the month ended to-day are as follows, figures for the corresponding month last year being in parentheses: Customs, £61,367 (£58,755); beer duty,. £17,276 (£20,253); tyre tax. £744; motor spirit tax, £3,252. The figures for the quarter ended to-day are: Customs, £206,031 (£232,675); beer duty, £47,973 (£51,814). ALL-ROUND INCREASE RECEIPTS AT CHRISTCHURCH Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday. The customs duty collected at Christchurch in September was £117,216, and the beer duty, £7,614. The figures for September, 1927, were: Customs, £ 83,210 and beer dutj', £5,948 3s 6d.
