WAIKATO GOING DOWN
FLOOD WATERS SUBSIDING According to the latest reports the Waikato River, the rise in which has been flooding the country round Mercer, is now going down. Yesterday the Great South Road bethween Rangiriri and Ohinewai was covered to a depth of about 15 inches and it was reported that the water was still rising. Now. howover, the level has fallen considerably and motorists should have no difficulty in setting through safely.
