PLUMBING APPRENTICES

PROPOSED EXAMINATION That all plumbing apprentices within a 20-mile radius of Auckland upon completion of their fifth year shall sit for an examination by the Plumbers’ Board was a proposal put before the Arbitration Court this morning. In view of the fact that Mr. J. Clark, secretary of the Auckland Plumbers’ and Gasfitters’ Union, put forward a further proposal which the employers, represented b}’’ Mr. S. E. Wright, had not yet had the opportunity of considering, the court suggested that the application should be struck out so that the Apprenticeship Committee could start afresh with the proposal.
