PILGRIMAGE OF DEATH
VERDUN HERO’S FATE PARIS. Sept. 19. Jules Florentine, one of the few survivors of a French regiment which was practically annihilated at Douau mont during the defence of Verdun, saved his earnings after the war to make a pilgrimage in honour of his comrades. He rode a cycle to Douaumoat. While he was descending a hill approaching the fort, the machine skidded, and he was thrown \nto a ditch and broke his neck.
