TUDOR, REMUERA

“WINGS” THIS EVENING “Wings,” the epic of the air, which will be shown at the Tudor Theatre, Remuera, this evening, stars three well-known screen players in Clara Bow, Richard Arlen and Charles Rogers. Charles Rogers plaj-s the role of Jack Powell, who has always longed to fly, and in all his day dreams he hears the whirr of wings. Failing to secure an airplane, Jack turns an old chassis into a passable car, helped by Mary Preston, the girl next door.- Mary loves Jack, but Jack fancies himself in love with Sylvia Lewis. When the car, named the “shooting star” by Mary, is finished, Jack asks Sylvia to take the first ride in it. He does not know that Sylvia loves, and is loved by, David Armstrong. When the Great War clouds spreads until its shadow is over even their small town, David and Jack answer the challenge and join the air force. They leave for France together and the picture is the story of the war in the air.

“Interference,” the famous stageplay, is being made into a Paramount picture, with a cast headed by Evelyn Brent, William Powell and Clive Brook. Lothar Mendes is directing.
