BRIDEGROOM’S LOSS

Robbed of £4O While Unconscious . BEST MAN IN HOSPITAL To be taken ill while proceeding to his wedding and to be robbed of £4O while he was lying unconscious on the Auckland Railway Station has been the unfortunate experience of a railway employee this morning. But that is not ” the sole extent of the misfortunes. On Saturday his best man was knocked down by a motor-car and had several ribs broken. The wedding was to have taken place at Helensville to-morrow, and Mr. Lewis was at the station this morning with the intention of leaving by the Helensville express, when he was taken ill. .- He had £4O in notes on him at the time, and when he recovered consciousness he found that they had gone. It is thought that it was while he was lying on the platform that the money was removed. Mr. Lewis was taken to the hospital and the loss was afterwards reported to the police. Little hope is held out for the recovery of the money.
