PRINCE EDWARD
One of the latest pictures made by the popular actor, William Haines, and now being shown at the Prince Edward Theatre, is entitled “The Smart Set/* It is a story of polo players. Polo seems to be ideal screen material. It has thrills, colour, struggle and romance, and it gives plenty of scope for sparkling comedy. One doesn’t need to understand the game to realise that “The Smart Set” is one of the finest comedy romances of a decade.
Alice Day, Jack Holt and Hobart Bosworth, all stars themselves, make a very talented supporting cast for Haines in this wonderful picture. “Good Time Charley,” the second attraction, is a story of life behind the footlighths. Dolores Costello and Warner Oland are the leading players.
