Rain began to fall shortly before the first race. Results: LONGBEACH HACK HANDICAP Of £110; 6 furlongs. 7-ROYAL TRACTOR (L. Hunt), 9.0 1 S—AMOR. 9.5 2 11—UPROAR, 9.0 3 Scratched. Lancer. Won by four lengths, a length between second and third. Time, 1.15 2-5.
LIMERICK FOR MELBOURNE TO RUN IN CAULFIELD STAKES (United P.A. —By Telegraph — Copyright) Reed. 11.30 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. The popLilar Epsom candidate, Karuma, is being withdrawn from Epsom, but is going to Melbourne for the spring carnival. Limerick and Roscrea are also going to Melbourne, the former having been nominated for the Caulfield Stakes and the latter for the Herbert Power Stakes. Owing to the gradual diminution of totalisator investments on the Randwick course throughout the year, the State Cabinet has authorised the Australian Jockey Club to revert to the former basis of distribution of dividends, namely, 60 per cent.' for winners and 20 per cent, each for second and third Jiorses. The present distribution is 50, 30 and 20 per cent.
