MORE MEN UNEMPLOYED

DEPARTMENTAL FIGURES A further increase in unemployment is shown by figures supplied by the Labour Department this morning, the total number of men out of work being 847, compared with 827 the previous week. Men registered as fit for heavy work number 708, and those suitable only for light work 139. The figures for last week were 700 and 127 respectively. During this week 35 men were placed in employment, compared with 32 for the week ending September 22.
