FIRM AT OPENING RATES (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 9.15 a.m. LONDON, Friday. At the wool sales, 11,089 bales were offered, of which 3,247 were Australian and 5.647 New Zealand. There was a miscellaneous selection of Merinos, only a few greasy crossbreds, and a large offering of slipes. There was fair competition, but withdrawals were frequent. Prices were firm at opening rates. New Zealand: Bayfields, 23d. OPOSSUM SKIN VALUES Dalgety and Company, Limited, report receipt of the following telegram from their Dunedin branch, dated September 21: — Opossum Skins. 17,000 skins offered. We catalogued 8,700; reds,ls dearer; greys and blues, 6d to Is cheaper; blues made 11s lid to 23s 7d; greys, 11s to 19s; reds, 9s Sd to 12s Id.
