WORLD’S WHEAT SUPPLY
BETTER DEMAND FORECAST (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 9.5 a.m. WASHINGTON, Friday. The Department of Agriculture forecasts that the world wheat supply this year will be only 4 per cent, larger than the supply available in 1927. It anticipates that this increase will largely be offset by an increase in the demand. It is pointed out that the increases in North America are likely to be balanced by the anticipated smaller crop in Russia and India, both of which probably will be compelled to import wheat before the end of the season.
