NEW ZEALAND CUP

TERENCE DILLON IN FIELD

THE MYSTERY EXPLAINED

(Special to THB SUKJ

CHRISTCHURCH. Thursday. 111 connection with the first payments for the New Zealand Cup, which fall due to-day, it transpires that Terence Dillon was taken out by mistake. The Oamaru trainer, J. Henderson, telegraphed last night confirming the engagements of both his horses, Terence Dillon and Dalnahine. The telegram was placed in the letter box at

the door of the club's office, and it was overlooked. As the notice was delivered at the club’s office before the hour fixed for tho payment to close, Terence Dillon has been reinstated. The explanation of his stable mate, Dalnahine. appearing in the original list of horses remaining in the race, is that his owner. Mr. J. M. Samson, sent a notice of acceptance.
