DAIRYING INDUSTRY COMPANY ACTIVITIES Butter and cheese manufactured throughout the province continues on a scale well ahead of last year’s figures. Following is a summary of boxes of butter and crates of cheese received during the past fortnight and since the beginning of the season into the grading stores of the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Company, together with the figures for the corresponding period of last season:—• Butter. Fortnight . 79,053 70,063 5,584 4,580 Season .. 215,265 184,212 11,179 9,582 The figures for the fortnight represent an increased yield of 13.58 per cent., and for the season to date, 16.84 per cent. * * * The Te Awamutu Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited ,is making a cash advance payment to suppliers at the rate of Is 5£ a lb for finest butter-fat supplied in August, the total amount of the payment being £5,245. The amount paid in August last year, at the same rate of advance, was £2,78f1u The total advanced for the three months of the season to date is £7,725, compared with £4,209 last year. The quantity of butter made in August was 38 tons 12cwt, compared with 21 tons 3cwt in August last year. The output for the three months is 61J tons, an increase of 86 per cent, over last year. Since the beginning of the season 48 new suppliers, representing approximately 2,500 cows, have joined the company. The Bay of Islands Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, is paying out the sum of £3,231, being the advance at the rate of Is s£d a lb for first-grade and Is 6d for finest grade butter-fat supplied during August. The butter-fat received for August shows an increase of 35 per cent over the quantity for August last season, and for the three months ended August 31 the increase is 30 per cent, over the corresponding period last year. For the September supply the advance payment has been fixed at Is for first grade and 1» 6d tor finest grade butter-fat. The new dairying season has opened under most favourable conditions on the Rangitaiki Plains, and for August 160,1011 b of butter-fat was dealt with at the Rangitaiki factory. This represents, an increase of 57.92 per cent, compared with the output of August last vear. The pay-out for last month at Is 3£d a lb butter-fat for a superfine cream amounted to £10,125 4s, compared with £6,125 9s 4d at Is 3d a lb super-fine for August, 1927. The output for August of last year included cream supplied from the Opouriao Dairy Company during the latter’s building operations.
