KNOCK-OUT LEAGUE
Roop Rooster Semi-Final NEWTON TO MEET PONIES THE well-known and popular Rugby League knock-out competition, the Roope Rooster, will be continued another stage to-morrow. The star match of the day, between Newton and Ponsonby, to be played on the main area, promises to be fast and exciting, although on recent form the odds appear slightly in favour of the Newtonians.
At various times throughout the sea- . son Ponsonby has shown that it was } capable of fully extending the best senior teams in the competition, and if it can approach anything near its usual form to-morrow, the game is bound to be evenly contested. Newton lias been inclined to go a little off its usual hard style of play, but with Dufty, Hardgrave, Clarke, Little and Co., up to form and keen to clinch the final honours, Newton's supporters can rest assured of their team showing some of its previous form. On No. 2 area Marist will meet Levonport, and if the Tykes go down, it
will leave Shore and either Newton or Ponsonby to play the final. THE TEAMS Senior B Grade Parnell. —Perry, Faton, Kerr.
