I L FLOWERS AND FERNS Twinkling fairy lights in blue, green and gold, and waving bamboo fronds, formed a very effective setting for the dainty frocking of the dancers in the Town Hall Concert Chamber last evening, when the Auckland Parks and Reserves Committee Social Club held its annual social and dance. Suspended baskets of delicate fernery and potted shrubs transformed the stage into a delightful bower, while draped flags lent a dignified air to the decorative scheme. Councillor and Mr.s F. W. Brinsden received the guests, Mrs. Brinsden wearing a graceful gown of mexique satin beaute, with Oriental motifs. Dancing was interspersed with enjoyable musical items, including numbers by Mrs. G. Smlihers, Miss Dunsmore, the Misses Matthews, Messrs. Garner, Roberts, H. McLennan, Jenson, Williams, and Carr. Miss Johnston was at the piano. Among the guests were: Airs. Fillimore. frock of black crepe faconne. Mrs. Douglas Cooper, claret red gown of crep de chine, with black georgette. Mrs. J. Nielsen, black gown of chiffon. Mrs. Beaumont Bates, period gown of mauresque taffeta. , Mrs. W. Kinley, powder blue frock of georgette, with diamante and shawl. Mrs. Woodward, eau de nil satin frock, with gold facings. Mrs. T. R. Sisson, nasturtium frock of crepe satin, with lace. Mrs. T. D. Leedham, brocaded frock of apricot, with pastel posies. Mrs. Hal McLennan, frock of ficelle satin, with uneven hem of silver lace. Mrs. Hampton, duehesse blue frock of georgette. Mrs. Garner, moonlight blue frock of ring velvet, with studdings of brilliants. Mrs. B. Nestor, black frock of crepe de chine, with champagne georgette. Mrs. John Wilson, black frock of satin and georgette. Mrs. E. McNamara, chenille embossed black georgette gown. Mrs. W. P. Roberts, flared frock of black crepe lido, with diamante. Mrs. Matthews, heavily beaded black georgette frock. Miss Alice Basten, mauresque frock of crepe faconne. Miss Hilda Matthews, embroidered frock of absinthe green crepe alonza, with pastel posies and shawl. Miss M. Brown, period gown of foxglove taffeta, with hem of iris mauve and shawl. Miss M. Matthews, rose du barn frock of crepe de chine*. Miss Greathead, frock of burgundy red crepe de chine. Miss Edith Smyth, aquamarine green frock of satin du soir. Miss E. Astin, jade green frock of taffeta, with shawl. Miss Freda Stone, frock of Paris tinted georgette, with deep hem of lace. Miss K. Dunsniore, pompadour pink frock of crepe de chine, with silver lace.
