CIVIC INQUIRY

CR. MURRAY WITHDRAWS “GILBERTLAN SITUATION” The inquiry into the civic waste charges made by Cr. W. H. Murray against the City Council will be continued this afternoon. Cr. Murray himself, however, will not be there. He ha,s decided, on the advice of his solicitor, Mr. F. D. Me Liver, to take no further part in the inquiry, because lie objects to the conditions which have been laid down. Recently the City Council advised that although the Press would attend, the committee would be allowed to go into committee when it desired, therefore Cr. Murray is of opinion that he may be denied the protection of publicity.
