POWER FOR NAVAL BASE

PROPOSED BULK PURCHASE The Naval Department proposes to reorganise the electric lighting system at the naval base at Devonport, the present supply being from the training ship Philomel. This proposal was discussed at a meeting of the Waitemata Power Poard yesterday. A suggestion had been put forward that bulk power supplies should be secured from the board, thus curtailing the expense of maintaining the dynamos in the Philomel.
