FANCY DRESS DANCE

FOR CHURCH FUNDS A very successful Catholic fancy dress ball was held in the Theatre Royal, Te Aroha, last week. There was a large attendance and many interesting costumes were worn. Prizes were awarded as follows: Prettiest costume. Miss K. Hedge (Madame de Pompadour); most original, Miss Phelan (Sylvia Starch); special prize, Miss Grant (Hula girl). SPRING FAIR • The women workers* association of St. Oswald’s Anglican Church, One Tree Hill, in the parish of Ellerslie, organised a spring fair, and over fJltiO was added to the church funds. The church hall and the stalls were decorated. Mr§. Mac Murray opened the sale. __ 1
