MANUKAU BOYS ENJOY RACE

If keenness counts anything l , the boys of the Manukau Yacht and Motor-boat Club ought to stand a good chance in the next Cornwell Cup contest. Despite the boisterous weather prevailing during the weekend, they were out in the club’s three twelve-foot-sixers, enjoying a merry race. The boats are the well-known Comet and Trevic, and another named by the club. Few harbours could supply a more exacting training ground than the Manukau, with its stiff breezes and frequent squalls, particularly at this time of the year. If the young yachtsmen are ready to accept advice and to learn all they can from the old hands, they should soon be formidable contenders for the Cornwell Cup.
