HEENEY-TUNNEY FIGHT
THREE THEATRES THIS EVENING The authentic film of the HeeneyTunney fight will be shown this evening at three theatres, the Capitol, Empire and Edendale. The film, which is 4,000 feet in length, is a remarkably clear one, and gives an excellent impression of the fight, round by round. When watching this film, one realises that Tunney is a master of the boxing art. On his toes he skips round the sturdy New Zealander, and lightly dances in to connect with his left. The champion’s agility is in contrast to the heavier and slower movements of New Zealand’s hope. Nevertheless, Heeney was undaunted throughout, and stuck gamely to the contest. He stood up to the heavy pounding of blows, took it all and still continued to fight ba2k until the referee intervened. His gameness has been told to the world and he deserves full credit for it. The slow-motion camera was used for many of the scenes, and every movement can be clearly seen by the audience. Warner Bros, have taken out a million dollar policy on the life of A 1 Jolson, with themselves ae beneficiaries. So big are the commitments in connection with the famous Al’s future, that Warner Bros, have deemed it advisable to cover him in case anything unforeseen should happen to the star. A 1 Jolson will shortly make his debut in Australasia in the Master Picture Special, “The Jazz Singer.”
