TINY TOTS’ BALL

A merry dance for the tiny tots was held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. F. Sullivan, Roslyn Terrace, Devonport, on Saturday evening under the patronage of the Melrose Park Ladies’ Committee, the funds going to the park improvement. Among the visitors were Mr. and Mrs. E. Aldridge, Mayor and Mayoress of Levonport; Mr. T. Walsh, chairman of the park committee, and Mrs. Walsh; Mrs. T. Carr Enright, chairwoman of the ladies’ committee, and Mr. Enright, of the Levonport Borough Council; Mrs. Sullivan, as a “blue bird,” and Mrs. L. Spinley and Miss May Newman, in the gay costumes of Pierrettes supervised the dances and games for the children. The ladies’ committee, Mrs. Aughton, Mrs. Rhodes, Mrs. Muirhead and Mrs. Scott, supervised the supper arrangements. Among the dancers were; Miss Noreen Perrett, as a Japanese girl; Miss Diana Sullivan, Russian girl; Miss Ivy Hassett, Safety First; Miss Joyce Spinley, folly; Miss Mavis Spinley, Island girl; Miss Doreen Spinley, Pierrette; Miss Alice Lennan, elf; Miss Patty Rowe, butterfly; Miss Dorothy Adams, Gipsy girl; Miss Madge Kennings, Chinese girl; Miss I. Marechal, Spanish dancer; Miss B. Collingwood, rose; Miss P. Young, Gipsy; Miss Patty Knight, French artist; Miss Betty Kerr, “Mary, Quite Contrary”; May Elwarth, jazz Pierrette; Miss Daphne Perrit, Gipsy; Miss Florence Young, a rose; “Baby” Leonie Sullivan, balloon girl; Miss Lorna Andrew, mauve crepe de chine; Miss Zita Parker, blue crepe de chine; Miss Thelma Johnson, cream silk; Miss Jean Wrigley, blue crepe; Miss Dorothy Munro, pink crepe; Miss Thelma Saunders, pink rosebuds and crepe de chine; Miss Eva Neil, green crepe de chine; Miss Connie Smallwood, buttercup silk; Miss Moira Tomlinson, white crepe de chine; Miss Ailsa Muirhead, pink silk; Miss Jean Muirhead, white crepe de chine; Miss Gladys Langton, pink crepe de chine; Miss Molly Emirali, yellow silk; Miss Marjory Collins, white crepe de chine: Miss Lorrie Walsh, mauve crepe de chine; Miss Valda Larrett, blue taffeta; Miss Joan Naughton, white crepe de chine; Miss J. Among the boys were Ken Collingwood, Barry Sullivan, Kevin Tomlinson, Willie Pearce, Basil Sullivan, Willie Burne, Bertie Eccles, Rex Robinson, Laurie Aldridge, L. Coleman, L. Costello and L. Rapley.
