BIG LONDON EXHIBITION LANDSCAPES AND PORTRAITS (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and y.Z. Press Association) Reed. 10 a.m. LONDON, Thursday. Sir Henry Barwell, Agent-General for South Australia, opened the largest one-man exhibition of pictures since the war at the Burlington Galleries. They are the work of Mr. J. F. Scott, a New Zealander, who was formerly official artist in the A.I.F.
There are 200 paintings, many of Australian landscapes, with South Australia predominating, and also a number of striking portraits of famous men in Europe.
ON WAY HOME.—The Leader of the British Labour Party, Mr. Ramsay Macdonald, after a month’s visit to Canada, sailed for England on Wednesday. He said that as soon as he reached lEngland he would plunge into the political fight and prepare for the general .election next year. He predicted that the result would be very good for his party.—A.P.A.-U.S.
