A meeting of the Waitomo Labour Representation Committee unanimously passed a resolution endorsing the action of the president and late secretary in writing to the London “Daily Herald” regarding the death of Dominic Nolan, an immigrant, near Whangarei. . On Wednesday evening, at a special meeting of the committee, Mr. Johansson tendered his resignation as r*resident, its he considered Messrs. Smyth and Elliott had insulted the dignity of the. chair by issuing a false report regarding the controversy, when they said that the local branch had repudiated the action of the secretory’ in writing the letter to the London newspaper.
