MT. ALBERT BAPTISTS
A SUCCESSFUL YEAR The receipt of the first £I.OOO toward the building fund for the new church was announced at the annual meeting of the Mount Albert Baptist Church. Of this amount £6OO was contributed by two members alone. The financial statement as presented by the treasurer, Mr. L. E. Utting, showed a satisfactory credit balance in church funds for the year. The Baptist Union Auckland Auxiliary, Baptist Missionary Society, Manurewa Home. Unemployment Fund and Poor Fund had benefited from special contributions. The annual report presented by the secretary, Mr. J. A. Penman, showed a membership of 133. All the church activities were in a sound position. The Sunday School, under the leadership of Mr. Harvey Turner, had 208 scholars and 34 teachei's, and had again won the Baptist Union Shield and Sunday School Union Banner in connection with the school examinations. The election of officers resulted: Secretary, Mr. J. A. Penman; treasurer, Mr. I/. E. Utting; envelope secretary, Mr. Roy Thomson; envelope treasurer, Mr. Goulburn: choirmaster. Mr. A. Turner; organist, Miss P.'Utting.
