BARNET GLASS EARNS LESS NOT CONSIDERING MERGER Rumours that Barnet Glass Rubber i’o., Ltd., was likely to be a third party tc the merger with Perdriau and Dunlop Rubber gained currency in Sydney a few weeks ago, but their truth was denied officially, so the prospective fusion is expected to embrace only the other two companies mentioned. The market is still a wafting an announcement of the terms of that amalgamation. Accounts of Barnet Glass, relating to i he year ended June 30 last, reveal diearnings, the sum cleared, 4.1U4,»05, bt-niK .€25,733 less than that disclosed in 1927, despite an increase of £15,-54 to £374,704 in gross revenue. The shrinkage in gain was therefore attributable to increased outgoings, and not to contraction in turnover. No difficulty is experienced, however, in mainlining the ordinary dividend at the rate ■ f 10 per cent., to which basis it was lised from 8 per cent, last year.
Including the dividend on the prefer- • " e capital, £68,189 is distributed among f .reholders, £50,000 has been transed to reserves, and 622.791 is car- : led forward at profit and loss. EGGS-1T HIGH PRICES Were you forced to skimp the family with eggs last autumn, owing to high prices? Put down eggs now they ar e cheap, with Sharland’s Egg Preservative. and have plenty for the next ••dear” season. Keeps them perfectly fresh and sweet. All Stores. 3
