Trans-Tasman Airplane Modelled in Flowers

Three young Newmarket women, the Misses T. Duncan, E. Turner and J. Sibun, have recognised the fame of the airplane. Southern Cross, in an elegant gesture. They have “said it in flowers.” To-day, at the Auckland Horticultural Society’s spring shore, they displayed a model of the airplane in the form of massed daffodils and violets. A mildlooking kewpie, representing Squadron - Leader Kingsford Smith, brandished a small Union Jack from his flowery eerie. The Southern Cross, as shown in flower form , is several feet long. Another novelty exhibit is a model in moss, flowers and leaves, of Auckland’s historic old mill
