HOWARD TALBOT DEAD

COMPOSER AND CONDUCTOR (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. LONDON, Wednesday. The death has occurred of Mr. Howard Talbot, composer and conductor.

Howard Talbot was born at New York and educated at King’s College, London. He received his musical education at the Royal College of Music under Sir Hubert Parry, Sir Frederick Bridge and BTr. F. E. Gladstone. His first opera was “Wapping Old Stairs,” 1894; subsequent works Include “Monte Carlo,” 1896; “A Chinese Honeymoon,” 1899, 1901; “Kitty Grey” (part composer), 1901; “Three Little Maids” (part composer), 1902; “The Blue Moon” (part composer), 1905; “The White Chrysanthemum,” 1905; “The Girl Behind the Counter,” 1906; “The Three Kisses,” 1907; “The Belle of Brittany,” 1908; "The Arcadians” (part composer), 1909; “The Mousme” (part composer), 1911; “A Narrow Squeak” (operetta), 1913; “Simple-hearted Bill” (sketch), 1913; “The Pearl Girl” (part composer), 1913; “A Mixed Grill” (revue), 1914; “A Lucky Miss” (musical comedietta), 1914; “The Light Blues” (part composer), “My Lady Frayle” (part composer), 1915-16; “Mr. Manhattan,” 1916; “High Jinks” (part composer), 1916; “Houpla” (part composer) 1916; “The Boy” (part composer), 1917; “Who’s Hooper” (part composer), 1919; “My Nieces,” 1921.
