FIRE AT TAKAPUNA

COTTAGE DESTROYED Early yesterday morning a fourroomed cottage in Chivalry Road, between Takapuna and Glenfield. owned and occupied by Mr. Stuart Haylock. was totally destroyed by ftre. At the time Mr. Haylock was away milking and when he returned the house was a mass of flames. There was no water supply, so that nothing could be done to save it and it was burned to the ground with all its contents. Mrs. Haylock, who was away on holiday, lost all her personal effects, and Mr. Haylock lost everything except the clothes he was wearing.
