NOVEL CAR TESTS

Testing a car for overseas’ service is no mere formality at the Vauxhall Works, Luton, England. A 20-60 hp. Vauxhall was recently doublesomersaulted down a steep bank, and then driven away under its own power. Another unusual, but most satisfactory, test for starting from cold was made in a freezing works. A Vauxhall car was put into a freezing chamber with a temperature four degrees below freezing point. Although the car was left there for fully 10 hours, on touching the starter button and after two or three revolutions the engine started up immediately.
