CRUISER RETURNS
NINE WEEKS IN PACIFIC WARSHIPS AT HONOLULU A cruise of nine weeks in the Pacific was concluded by H.M.S. Dunedin yesterday, when the vessel returned to Auckland and berthed at the Sheerlegs Wharf at 4 p.m. During her cruise the Dunedin visited Honolulu for the Captain Cook celebrations, where 10 warships took part in the impressive ceremony. The American vessels included the battleship Pennsylvania, the destroyers Ludlow and Burns, and four submarines. Besides the Dunedin, the British cruiser Cornwall and the cruiser Brisbane, of the Australian Navy, participated. Commodore Swabey was the senior British naval officer present. Bad weather was experienced during the first week after the Dunedin left Auckland at the beginning of July, but fine weather prevailed during the remainder of the cruise. The Dunedin will go into dry-dock in the course of the next few days and about a month will be spent at Auckland refitting. Toward the end of Otc-ober she will sail for Wellington, where the personnel will undergo the annual musketry course.
