Mr. Norman Sturt, the well-known Auckland tennis player who went to Sydney some weeks ago, returned this morning by the Marama. He will reside here In future.
Mr. C. N. Bolt, a civil engineer who left Auckland nine years ago and has been living in Siam and the East, returned by the Marama this morning on holiday.
After three and a-half years spent in London, Mr. Walter Fuller returned to New Zealand by the Marama this morning. He will proceed to Wellington on Sunday night.
Mr. E. H. Potter, Mayor of Mount Eden, at last evening’s Borough Council meeting was appointed the council’s representative on the sectional Town-Planning Committee.
Mr. F. W. A. Handman, chief engineer for Sir G. W. Armstrong, Whitworth and Company, Ltd., left for England by the Aorangl last evening. Before proceeding Home he will spend three weeks in Australia.
Mr. J. A. Dunning, New Zealand Rhodes Scholar for 1925, has returned to Auckland. At Oxford he took his BA. degree with honours in mathematics. He has been appointed to the staff of the John McGlashan College, Dunedin.
Mr. Phillips-Turner, Director of Forestry, and Mr. W. T. Morrison, conservator of forests for the Rotorua region, who are two New Zealand delegates to the Empire Forestry Conference in Australia, left for Sydney by the Aorangl last evening. Mr. A. Hansson, Inspector of State forests, had previously left for tho conference.
