CARDS AND DANCING
FOR CHURCH FUNDS
There was a fair attendance at the Gas Company’s hall in Otahuhu on Saturday evening, when a social evening, orga.nis_ed by Airs. W. AlcAnulty, was held. The proceeds are to be devoted to the forthcoming bazaar in aid of the Catholic Church funds. Airs. Edelsten supplied the music for the dancing, and extras were played by Air. Arthur Elder, on the concertina. An old-time waltzing comeptition was held, and was won by Air. and Mrs. Doherty. Several keen competitions resulted in the card tournament, the winners of which were Airs. Kelly 1, Airs. O’Toole 2, All*. Loehart 1, Air. Doherty 2.
