WHANGAREI TROTS
The Northland Trotting Club, which races on the Kensington Park racecourse at Whangarei, will hold its annual fixture this year on Labour Day, October 22, when the attractive programme recently reviewed in THE SUN will be presented. No race is of less value than £IOO, while the chief event is endowed to the extent of £3OO, and a cup.
Two-mile trotters will compete for a prize of £175, and horses capable of running ten furlongs in 2.55 or better have a stake of £l5O to attract them. Nominations close on Friday, September 28, with the acting-secretary, Mr. A. F. Thomson, which is the same date as that set aside for the Auckland Club's entries.
