WILL HE COME NORTH?
It is rumoured that more than one Auckland provincial owner is on the look out for a private trainer, and the name of Dave Bennett, the Addington mentor, is being freely mentioned as one likely to secure one of the jobs. “Abaydos” only hopes Dame Rumour is correct in this instance, as Bennett would be quite an acquisition to the game in this area. His long suit is efficient service, while he possesses the necessary characteristics of straightforwardness, conscientiousness and courteousness. P av ® commenced his association with the sport in the Buller district, and by dint of patience and perseverance, added to natural ability, he soon climbed to a high pedestal. Fortunate indeed would be the owner who could induce Dave Bennett to exchange his public obligations for those of a private nature.
