AT PLAZA NEXT V/EEK Universal’s sparkling, clever, blonde, charming heroine. Laura La Plante, will be seen at the Plaza and Tivoli Theatres next week in her latest starring vehicle, “Finders Keepers.” It is
one of her best pictures. In the supporting cast are John Harron, who plays opposite her, Edmund Breese, Arthur Rankin, William Gorman. Eddie Phillips and Joe Mack. Wesley Ruggles directed from the story of the same name by Mary Roberts I
Rinehart, which ran in the “Saturday Evening Post.” In the story she plays the role ot daughter of the colonel of a regiment. Nea i'lv everv one of the privates fail in love with her, but the really merry happenings commence when Miss La Plante dons the uniform of a soldier in order to get past the sentries. EMPIRE SHOWS “THE WARNING” “The Warning.” staring Jack Holt, will be shown at the Empire Theatre this evening. The story concerns the activities of a Chinese secret, society which has been quietly murdering members of the British secret service. The picture abounds in opportunities for exciting action, many thrilling situations being introduced, and the suspense is maintained throughout. A feature of the picture is some particularly clever photographic treatment of the exciting incidents in the quarters of the secret society. Jack Holt, one of the screen’s most popular players, and Dorothy Revier, have the leading roles and give satisfying characterisations in their difficult parts. “The Daredevil’s Reward.” in which the well-known actor Tom Mix is seen as a Texas Ranger, is the second feature.
