GREATEST SING
FUN AT TOWN HALL The greatest community sing in the history of Auckland will be held in the Town Hall on Tuesday evening at eight o’clock. The song leaders will be the Rev. Jasper Calder, Mr. U. Guthrie and Mr. Vernon Drew, and a wonderful evening of song and fun is anticipated. Wellknown soloists who will appear are Miss Etta Field, Miss Alma McGruer and Mr. Laurence North. The accompanists will be Mrs. Barrington Snow and Mrs. M. Osborne, assisted by a first call orchestra. It is expected that the Town Hall will be packed and that the proceeds, which go to endowed charity, will make a record. All of the extra men who took the roles of soldiers in “Finders Keepers,*’ the Universal picture, are World Wa.r veterans. Many of them were buddies during the war and renewed their acquaintance on the Universal lot. Laura La Plante enacts the starring role. She is supported by John Harron, who plays the male lead. Edmund Breese, Arthur Rankin, William Gorman, Eddie Phillips and Joe Mack. Wesley Ruggles directed.
