RECORD FAST FLIGHT
FROM INDIA TO ENGLAND FOUR AND A-HALF DAYS (United. P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press ion) (United Service) Reed. 9.5 a.m. LONDON, Friday. Captain C. D. Barnard and FlyingOfficer E. Allcott arrived at Croydon yesterday from Karachi in a Fokker monoplane. They had flown 5,000 miles in four and a-half days. The final stage of the flight, from Sofia to Croydon, a distance of 1,400 miles, was a‘non-stop. This is the fastest flight made from Indio, to England. Mr. Bert Hinkler’s flight from England to India occupied seven days. They made only four landings. From Karachi he started on Sunday morning. They reached Bushire. and took off on Monday, with the intention of proceeding to Aleppo, but they were delayed by head winds, and hod to land in the desert. They reached Aleppo on Tuesday, Sofia on Wednesday, and flew to Croydon on Thursday in 15 hours.
