DREADON— GRIFFITHS
Exquisite in all its details was a wedding celebrated yesterday afternoon at St. Mark’s Church in Remuera between Madge Grace, the onlly daughter of Mrs. Griffiths, of Torrance Road, Epsom, and Dr. John Dreadon, the third son of Air. G. Dreadon, of Papatoetoe. The Rev. Jasper Calder conducted the service, at which the bride was given away by her brother. Air. Albert Griffiths. 1 rails of delicate greenery and graceful clusters of arum lilies lent beauty to the decorations of the church, and to the end of each pew a. tiny posy of white flowers was attached with satin ribbons. A picturesque gown of ankle-length fashioning was worn by the bride, delight iully expressed in ivory taffeta. From a slender-fitting corsage the skirt drifted into gracious fulness and terminated in an uneven hem of beautiful si liven. lace. Limerick lace of exquisite weaving was used for the bridal veil, and fell in the form of a long train from a chaplet of orange blossoms, pearls and rhinestones. The bride’s bouquet was a dainty trifle of rosebuds and daffodils, in crescent shape, caught with tulle and ribbons. The Misses Tweet and Valerie Macindoe, cousins of the bride, attended her, wearing piquant frocks of taffeta, in viola mauve and lotus rose respectively.
Slim bodices distinguished the frocks and were attached at the low waistline to bouffant skirts, to which added chic was given by picturesque bows of ring velvet in matching tones. Each maid wore a becoming hat of picture type, trimmed with* a swathe of lace and a caressingly drooping trail of flowers. Their posies were of sweet peas, carnations and hyacinths. • The bridegroom was attended by Dr. A. I. Ivirker as best man, a fid Messrs. K. and H. Macindoe, T. Maxwell and R. Mulme acted as ushers. After the ceremony a reception "was held at “Ayala,” the residence in Westbourne Road, Remuera, of Mrs. C. G. Macindoe. Mauve and rose-coloured flowers were used with charming effect in the decorative scheme of the rooms. Mrs. Griffiths, the bride’s mother, received a large number of guests, and wore a distinctive frock of black georgette inset with bands of velvet and relieved with touches of blush pink.
