SHOW AND TENNIS OFFICERS ELECTED The annual meeting of the Pukekohe Lawn Tennis Club was held last evening. Mr. J. W. Johns presiding. The report showed that the membership was 96, an increase of 25 on the previous year. During the year an additional area of land was acquired, an<i arrangements made for six new courts. Richards, Spooner and Major J. A. Sommerville. The 43rd annual meeting of ft* Franklin Agricultural and Pastoral Society was held last evening, Mr. E. Allan presiding. The report stated that the autumn show of 1928 was one of the best ever held, despite the abnormally dry rammer. Several visits of inspection to places of interest w*ere made during the year by the members, and the innovation was thoroughly enjoyed. The balance-sheet revealed that the society was in a sound financial position, the overdraft being reduced by £9O 13s 9d. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. E.
