CAMPBELL PARK CLUB
With the second largest membership in Auckland, the Campbell Park' Lawn Tennis Club is now in a very strong financial position. The annual report to be considered at the anuual meeting on Tuesday, September 11, states that the number of financial playing members is now 178, an increase of 50. During the season improvements costing £272 have been effected. . From the income received it was possible to spend this amount, to write off £260 and to finish the year stronger financially by £29. The standard of play had shown a decided improvement. The results of the summer tournaments were as follow: Club Championships:—Men’s single, G. Martin; women’s single, Miss S. Bull; men’s doubles, J. C. Andrews and V. H. Barfoot; women’s doubles, Misses P. Rukutai and A. Leng; mixed doubles. Miss P. Rukutai and J. Rukutai. Handicap Tournament: Men’s singles, W. F. Porter; women’s singles, Miss S. Bull; men’s doubles, G. L. Winger and A. S. Winger: mixed doubles, Miss A. Leng and A. S. Winger.
