THEY WILL SELL

AT THE RIGHT PRICE RAASAY’S FIGURE When New Zealand owners obtain the right price for their horses, they are generally ready to let them go to Australian owners. Several of the visiting New Zealand horses are now under offer to Australian owners. Mr. J. g. McLeod, the owner of Raasay and Gesto, has disposed of Raasay to Mr. “Constable,” and the chestnut colt is to be trained at Randwick by I' - . J. Marsden, who prepares Dolomite and other horses for the same owner. Raasay ran second to Reonui in a seven furlongs race at Rosehill, and his future engagements include the A.J.C. Derby. Nad he remained in Mr. McLeod’s ownership, it is understood that tr. E. Pike would have ridden Raasay in the classic. . Raasay is a half-brother (by Lord Quex) to Runnymede, and has been trained by Luke Wlison, who held a high opinion of him. It is understood that the price was 4,ooogns (according to the Sydney “News.” The cable man said 3,000 guineas). Last week an offer was refused for Perception, but another buyer came into the field, and it is probable that the negotiations for the sale will be satisfactorily completed. It is said that 2,ooogns is wanted for Perception, which won a race recently at Canterbury Park. Perception is by Psychology from Amyrin. (The sale was duly completed at 2,000 guineas.)
