MOUNT EDEN FIRES

SLIGHT DAMAGE DONE The Mount Eden Fire Brigade received a call at 9.20 a.m. to-day to a house at 532 Mount Eden Road, occupied by Mr. Frank Marks. The house was unoccupied at the time, the children going to school being the last to leave. The fire started in a box in the pantry and spread to the ceiling of the dining room, damage to the amount of £3O being done. The house is insured in the South British Office for £ 1,000, and the contents for £3OO in the State Office. The brigade also received a call at 4.15 p.m. yesterday to a tar pot in Brixton Road, owned by Mr. A. Brodie, contractor. The fire was extinguished before any damage was done.
