AMERICAN SHIP SUNK
COLLISION AT SEA ALL THE CREW RESCUED (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and , N.Z. Press Association) (United Service) NEW YORK, Sunday. A message from Portland, Oregon, says the steamer Floridian, from Boston for Seattle, was sunk last night after a collision with, the Admiral Fiske, from Puget Sound for Los Angeles, when she was 65 miles south of the Tatoosh light. The Admiral Fiske rescued the crew of 43 men. The Floridian was a vessel of 6,720 tons, built at Baltimore in 1915, and owned by the American Hawaiian Steamship Company, of New York. The Admiral Fiske, 2 432 tons, is owned by the Admiral Line, of Tacoma, State of Washington. STEAMER DAMAGED HIT AN UNCHARTED ROCK (Australian Press Association.) SUVA, Sunday. The steamer Emlynian, when bound from Lautoka to Suva with a cargo of sugar for London, struck an obstruction, and is leaking slightly. The vessel arrived at Suva last evening. It is thought that she struck a rock, supposed to be uncharted, 75 miltss from Curacao. A survey will be made on Monday to ascertain the damage. The Emlynian is a steel screw steamer of 5,112 tons built in 1920 at Hartlepool, and is owned by the Dra&'on Steam Ship Co., Ltd., of Cardiff.
