BROKE UP A PARTY

VISITOR SAT ON BY GUESTS Hector Robert Rose became so insulting at a party in the New North Road on Saturday evening that his fellow-guests had to hold him down until the police arrived. In consequence, Rose, who is a builder, aged 30, was charged at the Police Court this morning with being disorderly while drunk. Constable McKenzie said that he had been called in to a house in the New North Road on Saturday evening. He was told that a party was in progress and that a man had arrived at the house, where he was making insulting remarks and being generally noisy. “When I arrived at the place,” said the constable, “Rose was being held down by several other men.” Rose, who was bailed out on Saturday, was fined 30s, the amount of his bail.
