GOOD GOLF IN A GALE LUSK’S WIN AT ROTORUA Press Association. ROTORUA. Fridav. ! The Rotorua golf tournament finals between H. B. Lusk (Auckland) and Morrice resulted in a win for Lusk, one up. During the match the wind rose almost to a gale and the golf demanded great judgment. Over 600 spectators followed the match, which was one of the finest ever seen on any links. At no time was the difference more than one. At the 18 th the match was all square, at the 27th all square and again at the 35th. A great ovation ; was given both the winner and the j loser at the close of the match. The j tournament was a great success. Matches Played Hamilton Ladies. —In the Hamilton Ladies’ Golf Club junior championship, Mrs. E. Bartlett defeated Mrs. J. White, i and 2. Tauranga Club.—ln a four-ball competition for members of the Tauranga Golf Club the best cards were handed in by Mutheson and Kenshaw, 1 up, and Bargent and Goulding, 1 up. A visitor to ihe Gate I*a course during the week completed nine holes in 36 strokes, which is one under the scratch score fixed by the association and is a record for the course. North Auckland Ladies.—The final of the North Auckland ladies’ golf championship resulted in Mrs. P. Gardner (Whangarei) defeating Mrs. Beattie (Titirangi), 4 up and 2 to play. The medal match was won by Mrs. Robertson, 105. 31—74. The Canadian foursome was won by Miss Carruth and Miss Collins, 4S, S—4o. The putting competition for the day was won by Miss Radcliffe, and the best putting score throughout the tournament was registered by Mrs. Neville.
