FARMER’S WIFE GORED LOSS OF CALF RESENTED (Prom Our Own Correspondent) WHAKATANE, Friday. Angry at the loss of its off spring, which had been placed in another paddock, a cow furiously attacked Airs .J. C. Carter on her husband’s farm at Te Teko. The animal knocked her down and gored her on the leg, inflicting a severe wound. It had no horns or the result would have been more serious. Just when the beast was taking off for another charge, Mr. Carter arrived and drove it off. Mrs. Carter is suffering from shock, and will have to remain in bed for a few days.
