Nominations for the position of trustees for the Netherton drainage district closed with the returning officer. Mr. C. E. Green, on Thursday. The following have offered their services: Alessrs. G. Buchanan. E. A. Chester, E. Jamieson, F. T. V. Johnson. J. A. Reid and J. Wakeham. As the board will consist of five members, a poll will be held at Netherton. * * * A concert in connection with the Women’s Christian Temperance Union was held on Thursday evening in Paeroa under the direction of the secretary, Airs. J. W. Cocks. There was a very enthusiastic audience present, and an extended programme of vocal, instrumental and elocutionary items was given.
